It is a rare sight to see the Flat Iron building looking anything less than busy. In the morning, the area is usually filled with people walking in different directions to make it right on schedule. At night, about the same amount of people flock the streets looking for a New York taxi to take them home. Seeing that in this painting, there is not that much people, it still looks like it is going to be a fun and exciting night in the borough of Manhattan. All thanks to the lively city lights, the city does not appear gloomy at all despite the obvious rain. The shade of blue prominent in the entire piece gave the painting a bit more character.
